Tyler & Katy Jermann
Tyler and Katy Jermann are elite level distance-runners with experience in the triumphs and failures of sport.
Tyler and Katy met at Iowa State University as they began their collegiate running career where Katy won two Big 12 Championships, received three All-American honors. Since joining Team USA Minnesota in July 2015, Katy found success on the roads, qualifying for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials as well as several top 10 USATF finishes. Katy just recently qualified for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials Marathon in her debut marathon in a time of 2:33.
Tyler on the other hand had his difficulties with injuries during his collegiate career and was never able to match his performances with what he thought he was capable of. Despite the lack of success in college competition, Tyler continued to pursue running after college, moving to Flagstaff Arizona to train with some of the nations and worlds best distance runners. Watching those around him, he was able to learn an approach to training where he could not only stay injury-free, but train effectively and improve substantially.
He found his niche in the Marathon and over the span of 2015-2017 he ran eight marathons, qualifying for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials Marathon. He also won the U.S. 50k Championships in the spring of 2017. He has already qualified for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials Marathon with a time of 2:13. that he posted at Houston in January 2019.
