Dr. Grant Norland, DPT, CSCS
Grant Norland is the founder and CEO of Inspired Athletx. He earned a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Iowa and an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Truman State University (MO), where he also played quarterback on the football team. Dr. Grant is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA as well as a Certified Golf Fitness and Medical Professional through the Titleist Performance Institute.
Grant specializes in manual physical therapy, sport performance, 3-D motion analysis, and corrective exercise. He has trained and rehabilitated hundreds of area athletes at the high school, collegiate and professional level including, football, lacrosse, basketball, baseball, hockey athletes as well as golfers, runners and a variety of other athletes. He has completed extensive post-graduate study in the areas of manual physical therapy and functional movement.
Dr. Grant is also the founder and director of The Quarterback Institute, which brings a unique blend of sport science, training, and coaching to the quarterback development process, while pioneering research in quarterback passing mechanics. Grant has helped to develop many collegiate quarterbacks, has prepared QBs for the NFL combine, and appeared on the emmy-nominated NFL Network docuseries Undrafted in 2015. He combined his unique understanding of biomechanics, physical therapy, sport performance, and quarterback coaching to form the most comprehensive quarterback development program.
Dr. Grant is an expert in movement assessment and functional manual therapy, which enables him to help athletes achieve their peak performance and recover from injuries faster by optimizing the way they move.
Dr. Ranae Norland
Dr. Ranae Norland, DPT
Dr. Ranae Norland is a licensed doctor of physical therapy at Inspired Athletx. She earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Iowa and an undergraduate degree in Biology from Wartburg College (Waverly, IA) where she also excelled as a middle hitter on the volleyball team.
Ranae has extensive post-graduate training in manual physical therapy and has a unique ability to find and treat the small details of movement mechanics that help to achieve optimal results. She has worked extensively with athletes and adult clients including dancers, volleyball players, track athletes, as well as area physicians and other medical professionals.
Dr. Ranae is an expert in manual physical therapy and functional movement training. Her expertise provides her patients and clients with a comprehensive approach to treatment that enables them to achieve results quickly and return to the things they enjoy.
Dr. Molly King
Dr. Molly King, DPT, ATC
Molly King is a doctor of physical therapy and certified athletic trainer at Inspired Athletx. She earned a doctorate of physical therapy degree from The University of Iowa and an undergraduate degree in Athletic Training from Gustavus Adolphus College. She also minored in coaching at Gustavus and is an American Sport Education Program certified coach.
Molly specializes in manual therapy, dry needling, corrective exercise, and bridging the gap from injury rehabilitation to sport performance enhancement. She has worked with clients and athletes from youth to professional, including football, volleyball, tennis, basketball, and baseball athletes, as well as swimmers, gymnasts, horseback riders, and runners. As a former girls’ hockey coach, she has a special interest in hockey players, as well as the female athlete. She believes in building a strong foundation of mobility and stability, while integrating sport specific exercises early in the rehabilitation process to get you back in the game as rapidly as possible.
Justin Axelson, CSCS
Justin is passionate about the process of creating opportunities for athletes to reach for and achieve their athletic goals and dreams. He has excellent knowledge and understanding of quality movement as well as the return to sport process following injury.
Justin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Concordia – St. Paul, where he played tight end on the football team and earned “Lifter of the Year” honors in their strength and conditioning program. While at Condordia, Justin completed an internship through the strength and conditioning department, primarily working with the sports of football, volleyball, soccer, and basketball.
Prior to transferring to CSP, Justin began his college football career at North Dakota State University and was a member of back-to-back 2014 & 2015 National Championship teams. NDSU is where Justin’s passion for athlete development began after witnessing a group of seniors become choked-up while delivering goodbye speeches to their strength coaches. He saw the an impact a sport performance coach can have on an athlete and in that moment knew that a career as a coach is what he wanted to pursue.
Zayne brings great education and experience to the sport performance coaching team at Inspired Athletx having been a a college football standout and college football coach.
He graduated from Minnesota State – Moorhead in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, where he also served as a graduate assistant football position coach of running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends.
As a player, Zayne was a standout running back for the Minnesota State – Moorhead Dragons. He earned All-NSIC Conference honors in the 2013-15 seasons. In 2014 he rushed for over 1,100 yards, becoming the first Dragon in 15 seasons to rush for over 1,000 yards and earning All-American honors.
Zayne worked as a sport performance coach at a training center in Fargo, ND before joining the team at Inspired Athletx.
Kristina Swanson, RDN, LDN
Kristina Swanson is a registered dietitian with Inspired Athletx. She earned her nutrition degree at the University of Minnesota. She completed her dietetic internship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, where she had the opportunity to learn about nutrition in all fields and had rotations with sports nutrition.
Kristina was on the University of Minnesota’s Women’s Rowing Team for two years. She then interned with the Gopher Football Team to learn more about sports nutrition. She loves working with clients to help them make healthier and smarter choices when it comes to fueling their bodies before, during, and after practice and games.
As a marathon runner and Boston Marathon qualifier, Kristina has seen firsthand how following a healthy, balanced diet can help increase athlete performance. She believes when athletes understand nutrition, they can take their performance from good to excellent. She is a firm believer that food is fuel and loves seeing athletes succeed with their body composition and performance goals.
Ryan is a sport performance coach on the Inspired Athletx team. He is highly educated in the field and brings a background in tennis as an athlete along with a variety of work experience, including being an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the University of Northern Iowa football program.
He graduated from Winona State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science where he also played on the club tennis team after a standout high school tennis career. While in college, Ryan also served as an assistant high school tennis coach for Cotter High School in Winona.
Ryan went on to earn a Master’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Northern Iowa (Cedar Falls, IA), where he also served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the football program along with other sports for over two years.
Ryan’s education and experiences make him an exceptional sport performance coach and a leader in the field.
