Elbow Injuries

Tennis Elbow is the common term for Lateral Epicondylitis. With this condition, the extensor muscles become inflamed and irritated at the bony attachment on the outside of the elbow. Click here to learn more. 

Golfer’s Elbow is the common term for Medial Epicondylitis. With this condition, the flexor muscles of the wrist/forearm become inflamed and irritated at the bony attachment point on the inside of the elbow. Click here to learn more.

The Ulnar Collateral Ligament (UCL) is found on the inside part of the elbow and attaches the humerus (upper arm bone) to the ulna (lower arm bone). A UCL sprain is an overstretch or tear of the ligament. Click here to learn more.

The Lateral Collateral Ligament (LCL) or also called the Radial Collateral Ligament (RCL) is located on the outside of the elbow. This ligament supports the elbow and provides stability at the joint. An LCL sprain occurs when this ligament is overstretched or torn.  LCL injuries are much less common than UCL injuries. Click here to learn more.
