Maddie McCollins = 🐐
Mar 19, 2024University of Wisconsin- River Falls, senior captain Maddie McCollins finished up her collegiate career about as good as anyone could have dreamed of. In the past week, she was announced as the 2023-24 recipient for the Laura Hurd Award, presented to the best player at the NCAA DIII level, and helped her team defeat Elmira College 4-1 to improve to 31-0 and win the 2024 NCAA DIII Women's Ice Hockey National Championship.
This season, McCollins set school records in career games played and single-season goals scored (32). She led DIII with 62 points in 29 games. Along with the Laura Hurd Award, she received: AHCA First Team West All-American, WIAC Player of the year (for a second consecutive year), and All WIAC First Team this year.
The Wayzata High School alum had a tremendous career earning the following stats & awards throughout her time at UWRF:
